Gateway Players Theatre presents THE OUTSIDER by Paul Slade Smith, a timely and hilarious comedy that skewers politics and celebrates democracy. Ned Newley doesn't even want to be governor: he's terrified of public speaking and his poll numbers are impressively bad. But political consultant Arthur Vance thinks Ned might be the worst candidate ever to run for office... unless the public is looking for exactly that. Directed by Patrick Bracken, produced by Ed Humphries; cast Jordan Miller, Billy Bolster, Eric Hart, Elyssa Miller, Cassidy Shaw, Nicole Rawdon and Peter Amaral. Adult production. Remaining performances: Sat Oct 10, Fri Oct 16 and Sat Oct 17, 2026 at 7:30 PM; Sun Oct 18 at 2:00 PM, in Fellowship Hall at Elm Street Congregational Church, 61 Elm Street, Southbridge (entrance on Park Street). Online sales for tonight (Oct 10) are no longer offered on TicketLeap; reserve by phone at 508-764-4531. Presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals (Dramatists Play Service).
